Devlog #3 - Items


For the past couple of weeks, I've been focusing on quite a few things. 

The biggest new addition is probably the fact that now you can use items.

The player can now hold up to three items and use them during the match. I'm a bit reluctant about what items the game will have. Nonetheless, it was nice seeing that adding this didn't change much of the code. Sure some changes were made but without any big issues.

With items, I knew that I would need to have some indication of their effect. I had already left a spot open on the HUD for that. I thought about making it in many complicated ways but in the end, a tween ended up solving it. Similar to that I've also been meaning to add an effect to the health bar. Again, using tween was the best solution.

Also, as you guys can see I've added the animation for the character running. I'm not 100% happy with it. It needs more frames and it feels like a mismatch with everything else. I do hope it fits better once the rest of the art is added.
